My name is Carolyn Davy and the home of Familiar Devon Rex is in Lancashire, in the North West of England. I have been besotted by Devon Rex since 1995 when I fell under the spell of a stunning black smoke kitten - with a wrinkly neck that seemed to extend like ET's - whilst visiting a cat show. From that moment I was drawn to the Devons at all the shows I visited but I had never cuddled one until Anthony Holmes (Cemresi) sealed my fate by placing into my arms a toasty warm Devon kitten called Ronald. I couldn't believe my luck when Caroline said she had a whole litter of black smokes at home and I could go and have a look at them! |

I can't thank Caroline enough for entrusting Nora, my amazing girl who is now eleven years old, to me. Our family grew with the addition of Wilma, Phyllis and eventually Nigel (Mogwye Wicked Willy), who was my first Devon stud boy but is now happily neutered. More recently, huge thanks for my "new generation" of girls go to my good friend Julie Platek (Danadia) for Hazel, Abbie and Babs, to Pete and Doe Armstrong for Daisy and also to Janet Dale for allowing me to have Kevin as a working boy. |

My cats are, and will always be, primarily my babies; part of the family. My first concern is always for their happiness and wellbeing so please do not be offended if you are asked lots of questions when you enquire about one of my babies. My decision resulted in their being born and I am, therefore, responsible for doing my best to ensure that they have the best opportunity of having a long, secure and happy life. |

| Devon Rex are unique cats, not only in their appearance but also in their temperament, which is more akin to a dog than that of most cats. Devons are very affectionate "people" cats who need to be with their family and most are at their happiest curled up under your chin! You can't ignore a Devon! They like to be involved in everything you do whether that is reading a newspaper, making a meal or mopping the floor - your Devon will do her best to "help". If you are looking for a quiet lap-cat who will sleep, eat and be unobtrustive - don't get a Devon! However, if you want your cat to be a part of the family and have a huge personality - a Devon Rex could be for you. |
